The Middle Fork river trip begins at Boundary Creek boat ramp, and ends 100 miles down river at Cache Bar, on the Main Salmon. The shuttle service for a full Middle Fork trip is 219 miles and takes about 6 hours to drive one way. Access from Hwy 21 into Boundary Cr. can open as early as the first week of June, or later depending on snow pack. The preferred route for early season access to the river is by using an air taxi service into Indian Cr. Due to the unpredictable nature of Marsh Creek, these headwaters should only be used to access the Middle Fork by boaters who posses the proper equipment and skill.
